At Tennis Australia, we're creating a more playful world through tennis, for everyone. From grassroots to Grand Slams, tennis brings people together, inspires communities, and builds champions on and off the court.

We're a team of imaginative and passionate people who believe in the power of sport to make a difference.

Want your chance to make a mark on a world-class international event? We are looking for a talented Site Operations Supervisor to join our Event Operations Team and play a key role in delivering the United Cup Sydney 2027. This is a full-time maximum-term contract from 9 November 2026 to 29 January 2027.

As this is a seasonal event role, we require full availability and flexibility across the tournament build, event delivery and bump-out periods, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

We're committed to reflecting the communities we work and play in. We strongly encourage applications from women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQI+ individuals, people with disability, and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising the delivery of event overlay and temporary infrastructure across designated venue work zones during bump-in, tournament operations and bump-out.

  • Coordinating contractors, suppliers, logistics and site crews to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.

  • Monitoring site progress, conducting inspections and quality assurance checks, and providing regular updates to the Event Operations team.

  • Managing stakeholder and supplier relationships onsite while communicating site procedures, restrictions and operational updates.

  • Promoting a safe working environment by identifying risks, enforcing health and safety requirements and supporting compliance activities across the venue.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience working in major events, venue operations, logistics, overlay, construction, maintenance or related operational environments.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams and suppliers.

  • Be highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Have strong computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools.

  • Hold a White Card (Construction Induction Card) or equivalent, or be able to obtain one prior to commencement.

  • Current Forklift Licence desirable but not essential.

  • Be prepared to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with tournament delivery.

What's to love?

  • Career development with a range of formal education and on-the-job training opportunities

  • Tickets to the Australian Open

  • Health & wellbeing benefits, including access to CorePlus Pilates and other wellbeing initiatives

  • Onsite gym, tennis facilities & free onsite car parking

  • A range of discounts from our sponsorship partners

To Apply

If you think you're up to the challenge, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and cover letter via our online application system. Please note, only applications submitted through our system will be considered.

You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.

If you need assistance or adjustments to fully participate in the application process, please contact recruit@tennis.com.au.

Applications close 15/09/2026, however we will be reviewing applications as they are received and may close the role earlier if a suitable candidate is identified.

Tennis Australia is committed to providing a safe environment for all tennis participants, including children and young people. It is essential everyone involved with delivering tennis in Australia understands their responsibility in relation to child safety.

We believe playing makes life better and we are always on the lookout to talented people to join our team and help us create a playful world through tennis.
