About the role
This pivotal role in the tennis delivery network ensures that the highly professionalized delivery channels for tennis, specifically professional venue operators and the Tennis World business unit are appropriately led, supported, engaged and motivated to play their vital role in the delivery of the sport.
Providing input and subject matter expertise into the national strategy and its accompanying programs and initiatives, this role will bring the perspective of high-performing venue operators and tennis business leaders, but specifically of Tennis World, to the Tennis leadership team, ultimately shaping a plan that can be delivered outstandingly well and that is relevant to the best operators in the country.
In this role you will:
- Oversee Tennis World operations to ensure effective scheduling, communications and program reporting.
- Build a high-performance culture. Set clear performance expectations and measures aligned with Tennis’ priorities and key deliverables.
- Lead the delivery of improved business performance whilst collaborating with other business units and collaborating to achieve multiple objectives.
- Develop innovative and imaginative ways to grow revenue, levels of activity and quality of delivery for Tennis World venues.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to ensure engagement, retention and future readiness, including with initiatives to support women and girls.
- Develop comprehensive strategies to educate and develop professional venue operators in line with the needs of the national strategy.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven experience leading and developing large tennis or sports business
- Strong leadership presence with ability to inspire, motivate, and hold other accountable to high professional standards
- The ability to influence and deliver outcomes, managing upwards and downwards
- To maintain a high-performing culture while ensuring wellbeing, inclusion, and work life balance are supported
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
