About the role
We are seeking a Lead React Native Developer to join our Technology & Digital team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will lead and contribute to the development and evolution of our web and mobile platforms, including the Australian Open Web and Mobile Apps.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain software solutions that meet user needs and business goals, collaborating closely with architects, business analysts, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and timely delivery.

In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and maintenance of the Australian Open mobile app and related platforms using React Native and full-stack technologies
- Ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable code, conducting reviews, implementing best practices, and embedding data protection measures
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, supporting skill growth and innovation within the development team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver projects on time, gather requirements, and act as a technical point of contact
- Apply Agile methodologies to efficiently manage development, identify and resolve technical challenges, and minimise workflow disruptions
- Maintain clear and accessible technical documentation and stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive experience as a Software Engineer or Application Developer, with a proven track record delivering complex web and mobile applications
- Proficiency in React Native and full-stack development principles, including strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and the React ecosystem
- Experience developing iOS and Android mobile apps, with familiarity in modern front-end tools and libraries (e.g., Redux, Webpack)
- Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and integration, source control systems (e.g., Git), and automated testing frameworks
- Understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Tertiary degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
