About the role
We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team on a permanent, full-time basis. In this role, you will support Tennis Australia’s growth plans.
This varied and engaging role is ideal for someone with a diverse legal background who enjoys working with others and bringing new ideas to life. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, in this role, you will be a collaborative member of the Legal Leadership Team.
In this role you will:
- Partner with key business stakeholders to provide legal advice, negotiate contracts, and drive implementation aligned to strategic objectives
- Lead on legal matters for the relevant strategic pillar, resolving complex issues and integrating multiple sources of information
- Improve systems and processes, monitor legal changes, and ensure compliance across operations
- Coordinate projects, report on progress and outcomes, and manage any conflicts of interest
- Mentor and develop team members, collaborating constructively with the Chief Legal Officer to achieve optimal outcomes for Tennis Australia
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- 10+ years as a legal practitioner with senior-level commercial law with M&A, projects, structuring and/or start up experience. Experience with dispute resolution, litigation and/or employment law, while not essential would also be considered favourably.
- Demonstrated excellence, imagination, collaboration and humility in line with organisational values
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both one-on-one and in group settings
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
