The Role: Project Analyst
We’re looking for a commercially savvy Project Analyst to join our team in Woolloomooloo. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering accurate financial insights across a high-profile Defence program, supporting project performance, driving cost control, and enabling informed decision-making.
Working closely with project managers and finance teams, you’ll provide timely reporting, analyse cost performance, and help ensure projects are delivered on budget and in line with governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and validate project cost data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency
- Deliver timely monthly cost reports, insights, and performance updates
- Manage accruals, month-end processes, and financial adjustments
- Monitor cost performance, identify variances, and highlight risks/opportunities
- Support forecasting, reconciliations, and financial true-ups
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to support reporting and governance activities
Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in project cost analysis, financial reporting, or project accounting
- Strong financial modelling and budget control experience (ideally across projects or programs)
- Ability to interpret data and provide clear, actionable insights
- High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Desirable:
- Experienced in Primavera and Scheduling Tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Open Plan)
