About the role
We are currently looking for a Director of Security to lead our driven, passionate, and diverse Security team. Reporting directly to the General Manager Asset Protection and Operational Resilience, you will ensure the protection of The Star’s integrity and assets, while providing professional, efficient and effective guest service in accordance with our corporate values and business objectives.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Daily incident review and key actions decision making & dissemination
- Development of the department's business plan, including budgets, labour levels and resource requirements
- Implementing strategies to reduce incidents of illegal and undesirable activities
- Liaising with our Investigations, Surveillance, Operational, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs teams to ensure operational issues are addressed
- Overseeing the exclusion process to ensure regulatory requirements are met
- Supporting The Stars RSA obligations to ensure compliance
- Liaising with the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority and relevant law enforcement agencies
- Developing and implementing strategies to ensure customer service targets are achieved
- Managing the completion of all people planning requirements, including recruitment, training and development and performance management
- Leading the development of staff engagement strategies to build a positive and cohesive team
- Ensuring Security contract staff service and standards are in line with Star values
- Ensure compliance with CCA and any breaches are reported in a timely manner
- Ensure Security team members are appropriately trained to support emergency incident response including evacuation of compartments and system knowledge
- Ensure knowledge of Security SOPs and regular review and updating where required
About you
- Current NSW Security Industry Licence
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate
- Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Gambling Accreditation
- Cert 4 in Risk Management desirable, experience in mitigating risk in a casino integrated resort or similar large scale operation
- Advanced Conflict Resolution, decision making and Incident Management skills
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability in planning and resourcing people, performance management, and controlling labour costs and operating expenses
- Considerable experience in security and management, preferably within the casino industry
- Emergency Management and evacuation knowledge
- Understanding of laws as they relate to the organisation, in particular, Casino Control Act and regulations, NSW Liquor Act, Security Industry Act and Crimes Act.
- High level operational, decision-making experience
- Ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team
