The Star Gold Coast is hiring a Safety Advisor to be responsible for the strategic planning of Health & Safety action plans, ensuring effective controls are implemented and comply with regulatory requirements.

A key role involves providing advice and support in the management of safety risks working with key stakeholders who manage Entertainment Activations (Events, Marketing, F&B, Theatre) onsite, and ensuring they are informed of best practices. This role will see you proactively investigate and mitigate H&S risk issues by collaborating with regulatory authorities including Unions and industry associations, operational management, our Legal & Risk team, and business.

We have the below opportunities in Gold Coast:

  • 1 x 10-month full-time contract
  • 1 x Permanent full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop partner relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide advisory services on H&S programs
  • Identify causes of risks by maintaining high accuracy for regular on-site audits and inspections
  • Review effective controls and measures for venues and events, ensuring they meet statutory legislation and relevant safety policies
  • Work with various stakeholders to ensure compliance obligations across operational departments are clearly articulated and plans are developed to meet these

What are we looking for?

  • Solid experience or knowledge in health and safety within Hospitality industry
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage various stakeholders to support initiatives
  • Understanding of WH&S compliance and government regulations
  • Ability to complete risk assessments and reporting requirements
  • Capability to facilitate change and build knowledge with departments on action plans
