The General Manager of Workforce Performance is a newly created and critical position, responsible for leading and optimising the roster to pay processes to streamline and mitigate risk with consideration to the Employee Experience, commercial impacts, and technology support. You will oversee the delivery of accurate and compliant end to end payroll processing ensuring data integrity and security, regulatory obligations and financial reporting and support the high-level functionality, optimal capacity and maintenance of People Systems and Reporting.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the function to ensure effective and efficient planning and management of labour resources across the company with a focus on productivity and service delivery in line with company objectives.
  • Align operations across the Workforce Performance portfolio to the People and Company strategy.
  • Develop and implement the strategic direction of the Workforce Management group, developing and implementing strategies with the business which will drive an increase in labour productivity
  • Lead wage compliance assurance initiatives, providing regular data analysis and evidence-based advice to senior management and executives.
  • Identify risks and design strategies to mitigate impact in line with The Star’s Risk management practices
  • Implement a workforce management capability that is scalable, flexible and designed for growth
  • Payroll - oversee the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll processing as well as reconciliation, audits, data integrity and security, reporting and management of related systems and upgrades within guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Systems & Administration - provide high-level functionality, optimal capacity and maintenance of People & Performance technology

What does it take to lead Workforce Performance @ The Star?

  • Tertiary qualification in Business or related discipline from a recognised educational institution.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a leadership role across a broad portfolio with most recent experience being at a Senior Manager level.
  • Experience managing or overseeing payroll services.
  • Accountability for HRIS system and operations (Oracle or SAP experience preferred)
  • Experience providing strategic workforce planning services to a large and complex organisation with multiple industrial instruments.
  • Exposure to a fast-moving, service-based business, in particular a casino, gaming, airline /transport or hospitality business
