About the role
We're looking for a Senior Retail Credit Risk Specialist to play a critical role in managing retail credit risk across the customer lifecycle, while supporting sustainable business growth and strong customer outcomes.
How you'll make an impact
Reporting to the Retail Credit Risk & Fraud Manager, you will provide expert credit risk advice and analysis, ensuring retail credit risk remains within approved risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and analysing retail credit portfolio performance, including arrears, losses and emerging risks
- Implementing and maintaining retail credit risk policies, standards and controls
- Providing risk advice and subject matter expertise to stakeholders across Credit, Sales, Product and Operations
- Supporting regulatory, audit and governance activities
- Identifying opportunities to enhance credit decisioning frameworks, controls and reporting
- Contributing to projects, system changes and continuous improvement initiatives impacting credit risk
Your attributes
- Degree in finance, economics, business, data analytics or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- 7+ years' experience in retail credit risk, consumer finance or financial services risk management
- Strong knowledge of retail credit risk frameworks, credit policy and portfolio performance metrics
- Experience working within financial services environments
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
- Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Sound judgement, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving
