In Australia there are two separate businesses: Toyota Motor Corporation Australia (TMCA) and Toyota Finance Australia (TFA). While we work closely together, TMCA focuses on vehicles and here at Toyota Finance Australia our priority is to provide finance, insurance and fleet management.
This role can be based in St. Leonards, NSW. However, please note that the team will be relocating to our brand-new, state-of-the-art office at Grosvenor Place in Sydney CBD in November.
What you'll contribute to
The Product Owner is responsible for managing and coordinating the development of products within Toyota Finance Australia. They will organise, prioritise, and assess both features and user stories for a scrum team to deliver. They work closely with cross functional teams, identify user needs, and ensure the product meets customer and stakeholder expectations. The Product Owner works closely with Product Management and business units to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value.
How you'll make an impact
The Product Owner is expected to understand the capabilities of Toyota Finance Australia products and platforms. Additionally, the Product Owner needs to be able to understand and interpret business needs, and how to deliver transformative change by leveraging software capabilities. You will play a key role in:
- Plan, elaborate and refine features and user stories within sprints for a scrum team to deliver, based on priority
- Consistently refine and reprioritise the product backlog based on Product Management and business input
- Lead and participate in PI planning
- The Product Owner is accountable for leading a scrum team by communicating the product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities
- Communicate the sprint goals, review user stories, and mitigate roadblocks to assist scrum teams to deliver sprints successfully
- Ensure alignment of team deliverables to business objectives
- Understand and leverage best in class development and product implementation to deliver outcomes
- Work with business units to understand value and intended outcomes from product deliverables. Obtain constant feedback to ensure alignment of value being delivered
- Remain up to date on industry trends and best practices for product delivery
Your attributes
- Five or more years of experience in product ownership or business analysis
- Three or more years of experience with agile delivery
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Finance, or automotive sector experience A self-starter with strong sense of initiative.
- Excellent communication skills (chairing meetings, negotiation, handling difficult situations).
- A people person, able to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work in shared hybrid environment.
- Demonstrated experience delivering to tight deadlines and make sound decisions.
- Good attention to detail, tracking and reporting skills.
- Experience in or good knowledge of the SAFe framework and principles.
