What you'll contribute to

We have 2 exciting permanent, full‑time opportunities for experienced Senior Procurement Specialists to join our Finance, Procurement & Legal Division.

The Finance, Procurement & Legal Division provides critical corporate support across financial management, procurement, legal services, governance, and general affairs, including property and infrastructure management. The division plays a key role in protecting Toyota's interests, ensuring compliant and efficient operations, and enabling the delivery of the company's strategic objectives.

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for developing and managing procurement strategies to effectively support the business in achieving its objectives. This includes optimising supplier selection, governance, and supplier mix, with a focus on customer centricity, quality, value, sustainability, and compliance. The role ensures procurement activities strike an appropriate balance between strong governance and commercial outcomes, embedding sustainable spend management practices that drive efficiency, competitiveness, and long-term organisational resilience. Acting as a trusted advisor, the role promotes collaboration across functions and with suppliers to drive innovation, manage risk, and deliver sustainable value.

As part of Toyota's Procurement Shared Services, the Senior Procurement Specialist also partners closely with stakeholders across Toyota Finance Australia (TFA) to design and deliver procurement solutions aligned with strategic business objectives.

Both roles are based in Port Melbourne, with regular travel required to our Altona North office. Flexible working arrangements are available. Additionally, both roles will require fortnightly travel to our Sydney office.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead and support procurement activities across indirect categories, including sourcing, contract negotiation, and lifecycle management, to deliver outcomes in spend optimisation, quality, innovation, and risk management.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs, driving continuous improvement and innovation while proactively mitigating risks and unlocking value through effective collaboration.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across IT, Finance, Legal, Risk, and other business units, using commercial insights to influence decision-making and align procurement solutions with business priorities. Provide support to project and delivery teams to ensure sourcing and supplier engagement align with program objectives.
  • Ensure all sourcing activities comply with procurement policies, contractual standards, and regulatory requirements, promoting probity, transparency, and ethical practices while maintaining audit readiness and governance compliance.
  • Leverage data, research, and market intelligence to provide expert advice and identify opportunities. Collaborate with Legal, Information Security, and Enterprise Risk to strengthen frameworks, streamline processes, and embed best practice, while promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide high-level advice, market insights, and negotiation strategies to senior stakeholders, positioning procurement as a strategic partner and key enabler of business success and building confidence in its ability to deliver sustainable value.

Your attributes - If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline (desirable), with solid experience in procurement, vendor management, or similar roles, ideally within financial or professional services.
  • Proven experience leading sourcing activities across multiple categories and managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including contract negotiation, supplier management, and governance.
  • Experience working with procurement systems (P2P/S2C/S2P), such as Coupa or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance governance, cost, risk, and innovation, supported by effective negotiation skills.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities, including strong Excel skills for spend analysis and financial modelling, and PowerPoint skills for executive-level presentations and reporting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, prioritise effectively, deliver to deadlines, and drive continuous improvement and capability uplift.
