About the Opportunity
As our Junior Cost Estimator – Quantity Surveying Consultant (Consultant), you’ll play an key role in supporting TBH’s delivery of high-quality cost management and estimating services on some of the most complex and exciting projects across Australia and internationally.
While based in Brisbane, you’ll collaborate with our teams across Asia and the Middle East, you’ll have the opportunity to work across sectors, and contribute to major projects, particularly in renewable energy (wind and water), infrastructure, rail, health, and data centres. With exposure to both national and international initiatives, this role offers an exciting pathway for you to grow your technical capability, develop commercial acumen, and build strong client relationships. You’ll gain exposure to international projects, with potential for project-based travel across the APAC region.
From day one, you’ll work closely with experienced consultants and senior leaders across our Brisbane team and the wider TBH network. You’ll be empowered to make a meaningful contribution while gaining invaluable hands-on experience.
As our Consultant, you’ll be responsible for:

Delivering high-quality cost management and quantity surveying services across diverse projects

Supporting the development of feasibility studies, cost estimates, and cost plans
-
Undertaking detailed financial analysis, cost modelling, and reporting
-
Providing estimating and measurement support across a variety of projects including renewable energy (wind and water), rail, and data centres

Reviewing project estimates and cost breakdowns
-
Assisting in procurement strategy, tender evaluations, and contract management
-
Preparing clear, accurate cost reports and client presentations
-
Assisting with progress claims and valuations
-
Supporting cost rate development and benchmarking for large-scale programs

Contributing to internal initiatives, team collaboration, and innovation efforts

Taking part in client-facing opportunities, building your confidence and communication skills
What you’ll Bring
As our successful candidate you’ll bring:
-
2+ years’ post-graduate experience in quantity surveying, estimating or cost management roles
-
A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline

Experience in using tools such as CostX, PowerBi and Microsoft Office
-
Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methodologies
-
Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports
-
Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a collaborative environment
-
Progress towards or attainment of MRICS or AIQS membership (desirable but not essential)
