About Great River City Light Rail

At Great River City Light Rail (GRCLR), we believe public transport plays an important part in how a city comes to life. Supporting one of the biggest infrastructure projects in NSW, the consortium will supply the light rail vehicles and systems, the construction of the stabling and maintenance facility, the above-ground fit-out of the stations, and the operation and maintenance of the line.

The role

Reporting to the Rail Safety Manager this role will focus on obtaining and maintaining accreditation for both Rail Transport Operator (RTO) and Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) for the purpose of operating the Great River City Light Rail network. This will include supporting the operational readiness objectives and providing input into the design review, ensuring rail safety obligations are met. In addition, you will develop and document the necessary Safety Management Systems and take the lead in all communications and correspondence with ONRSR and ASA.

What you bring

In addition to your relevant tertiary qualifications, you will be an expert in rail safety legislation (NSW pref.) as well as experience in obtaining AEO authorisation. Having worked in a similar role you will have significant safety assurance experience (light or heavy rail) and demonstrated success in gaining and maintaining accreditation in rail safety as well as obtaining AEO authorisation. Given the nature of the role you will possess the ability to effectively represent, influence and drive outcomes with multiple project stakeholders including ONRSR and ASA. This will be achieved whilst working in a dynamic environment that requires high-level decision-making skills and delivering to tight timescales.
