We have permanent full-time opportunities for Train Managers , based in Wellington.
What the role involves:
As a Train Manager you will be responsible for providing a high standard of service to customers, by ensuring their safety and comfort, while answering inquiries and undertaking ticket and revenue collection functions.
This position requires you to work a 24 hour / 7 day period.
Responsibilities:
- Operation of rail services, in accordance with authorised instructions applicable to train managers.
- Issuing tickets and collection of revenue
- Complete and submit reports and documentation in relation to collection of revenue
- Effectively handle concerns raised by customers
- Promote Transdev's services by providing a high standard of customer service
- Work with the bus replacement providers in emergency situations and disruptions to services in a professional and efficient manner
- Hand operation of motor points may be required from time to time
- Being safety conscious and proactive regarding safety issues
- All other duties as directed by your manager
What you will bring:
- Ability to take charge of situations and stay calm under pressure
- A demonstrated record in reliability and punctuality, with the ability to consistently follow rules and procedures;
- Excellent customer service skills with a history of going the extra mile for our customers;
- A high standard of presentation and personal grooming;
- A clean, full NZ Drivers Licence;
- Reacting appropriately and dealing with emergency and/or pressurised situations, making good decisions and reporting incidents wherever necessary;
- A strong communicator, and capable of working on your own initiative;
- Flexibility is also essential, since trains operate daily between 3.00 am and 2.00 am, all year round. That means your shift lengths and patterns will vary, including early starts, late finishes, weekends and public holidays;
- You must also enjoy working with other on-board team members and Locomotive Engineers as part of a team to create a safe and positive working environment.
