As an Apprentice Body Repairer / Panel Beater, you will be responsible for repairs to the Transdev John Holland Bus fleet. We have opportunities at our Port Botany, Randwick and Waverley (near Bondi Junction train station) depots. Your work will support the public transport industry across bus Region 9 in Sydney’s iconic Eastern Suburbs. Your skills will support the connection between families, friends, and future generations. We are currently recruiting Panel Beater Apprentices for our January 2024 intake.

About you:
Must have some proven hand-on mechanical and/or automotive experience including the use of related hand and power tools.
Current C class drivers licence and be willing to upgrade to MR drivers licence (if required)
Commitment to an apprenticeship opportunity including TAFE study
Computer literacy with the ability to record accurate maintenance information.
All successful applicants must complete a national police check and medical including drug and alcohol check. Must also supply checkable work references and work-rights in Australia such as a passport or birth certificate
Job description:
Assist qualified tradespeople to construct and repair metal bus bodies and trailers, using hand tools and power tools.
Accident repair and fleet refurbishment.
Ensure bus presentation meets vehicle presentation standards.
Hours of work:
6am-2.30pm (Monday to Friday)
Depot locations:
Port Botany: Free all-day street and site parking is available
Randwick: Site parking available and close to public transport (bus and light rail)
Waverley depot: Approximately 600 metres walk from Bondi Junction train station.
Please note there will be a requirement to work across all 3 Region 9 depots (Port Botany, Randwick and Waverley) throughout the course of the 4-year apprenticeship.
There is a free staff bus that runs from Redfern or Central station to all 3 depots in the morning and afternoon (departure times vary).
TAFE study is held at Wetherill Park.
