About the Role:
As our new Operations Planner, you will be at the heart of keeping Wellington moving. You will be responsible for the development, review, and maintenance of operational rail and BRT (bus replacing train) plans – coordinating both staff and assets to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of services.
This role supports operational excellence through accurate planning, smart use of data and systems, and ongoing improvement of planning tools. You will also play a vital part in maintaining operational databases and helping roll out new planning systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain operational plans for rail and BRT services
- Coordinate staffing and scheduling in line with service needs
- Support and maintain key operational systems and databases
- Assist with implementing new planning systems
- Work closely with other teams to ensure plans meet operational and customer service objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in operational planning, workforce scheduling, or transport logistics
- Strong analytical and systems skills, with high attention to detail
- Experience with planning tool s is desirable, knowledge of HASTUS is particularly valuable.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
