About Transgrid
At Transgrid, we play a central role in supporting a safe, reliable and evolving energy system. Our people develop and deliver complex electricity transmission infrastructure that connects communities, supports customers and enables Australia's energy transition.
The opportunity
This is an influential opportunity to lead the early development and design coordination of complex Network and Customer projects. As Project Development Lead, you will guide multidisciplinary teams from initial concept, feasibility and estimating through to coordinated design and delivery readiness. You will balance safety, quality, cost, schedule and stakeholder priorities to establish projects for successful execution.
What you’ll do
You will turn complex technical, commercial and stakeholder requirements into clear development strategies that position projects for safe, efficient and successful delivery.
- Lead project development and design coordination for complex transmission lines, substations, asset upgrades, replacements and telecommunications projects.
- Shape bid proposals, scoping and estimate reports, feasibility studies, development strategies and design delivery plans.
- Establish and manage development budgets, forecasts, schedules, risks, governance deliverables and monthly performance reporting.
- Coordinate internal, external and contractor-led design delivery, including procurement, tender documentation, clarifications and evaluations.
- Influence customers, infrastructure planners, DNSPs, contractors, consultants and senior leaders to align requirements and achieve strong project outcomes.
What you'll bring
You are a technically credible and commercially minded leader who can navigate ambiguity, align diverse stakeholders and maintain momentum across competing priorities.
- A university degree in electrical engineering or a similar engineering discipline.
- Extensive power industry experience, with demonstrated capability in project development, project management, scheduling or estimating.
- Strong technical and commercial judgement, including the ability to balance safety, quality, cost, time, risk and stakeholder requirements.
- Sound understanding of regulatory planning, competitive infrastructure processes, design management, procurement and project governance.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder influence, with experience leading multidisciplinary teams and building trusted relationships without relying on formal authority.
