About Transgrid
At Transgrid, we play a crucial role in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable energy to millions of Australians. Operating over 13,000 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 134 substations across NSW and the ACT, we connect electricity generators to the distribution network powering homes, businesses, and communities. As Australia accelerates its energy transition, the work we do has never been more significant.
The opportunity
The Customer Connection Portfolio Lead manages Transgrid’s customer connections portfolio across the NSW/ACT transmission network, from initial enquiry and Connection Project Agreement through to application, proposal and execution.
Working within Customer Enablement and Connections, the role ensures the portfolio is planned and progressed effectively, delivering a seamless and commercially sound customer experience while meeting Transgrid’s obligations under the National Electricity Rules.
The role develops customer strategies that balance customer needs with network priorities and coordinates internal investment approvals to progress connection and operational enablement proposals and commitments. Commercial, financial and technical insights support pricing, prioritisation and risk assessment, helping optimise value for Transgrid and its customers.
Working closely with connections planning, proposal and network teams, the role also drives improvements to connection frameworks, tools and processes, supported by analysis and reporting that enables informed decision-making.
The impact you’ll make
In this role, you will shape how customer connection opportunities are prioritised, progressed and delivered across the portfolio. You will:

- Coordinate proposals and internal investment approvals, supported by robust commercial, financial, technical and risk analysis.
- Partner with customers and internal teams to resolve barriers, communicate progress and deliver a consistent, customer-led connections experience.
- Improve connection frameworks, processes, tools and reporting to strengthen portfolio visibility and evidence-based decision-making.
What you’ll bring
You will bring the commercial judgement, industry knowledge and relationship skills needed to manage a complex, customer-facing portfolio. This includes:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, business or commerce, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to managing portfolios of projects, proposals or customer connections while balancing competing priorities and service commitments.
- Demonstrating capability in developing, negotiating and managing energy infrastructure or services proposals and connection agreements.
- Experience preparing business cases and progressing internal investment approvals within established governance frameworks.
- Sound commercial acumen and knowledge of the electricity industry, transmission network connections and the National Electricity Rules.
Why this role
Be part of purpose-driven energy and play a key role in progressing customer connections across Transgrid’s transmission network.
