About the role

Join Transgrid’s Sydney Ring South project and help build meaningful relationships with communities, landowners and key stakeholders. As a Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officer, you will play a hands-on role in delivering engagement programs, coordinating consultation activities, responding to stakeholder enquiries and ensuring community feedback informs the development of critical energy infrastructure.

Working alongside project teams and engagement specialists, you will support a range of community and stakeholder initiatives, including information sessions, workshops, stakeholder briefings and consultation events. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile project, build trusted relationships and deliver positive outcomes for communities as Australia transitions to a cleaner energy future.

About you

You are a confident and approachable engagement professional who enjoys connecting with people and building trusted relationships. A strong communicator, you can engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. You are organised, proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to balance competing priorities while delivering a consistently high standard of stakeholder service.

You thrive in collaborative environments, have strong attention to detail and are comfortable coordinating engagement activities, managing stakeholder enquiries, maintaining accurate records and supporting consultation processes. Most importantly, you understand the value of listening to communities, building trust and ensuring stakeholder feedback is thoughtfully considered in project planning and decision-making. You will also bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, community engagement or a related field.
  • Experience managing challenging customer interactions and resolving conflict.
  • Experience engaging with landowners, community members, advocacy groups and government stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence.
  • Accreditation in IAP2 practices (desirable).
  • Experience using Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (desirable).

Our Values

Transgrid’s core values are safety, achievement, integrity and service. We put safety first, strive to make a meaningful impact, act with honesty and deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers and communities. These values guide the actions and behaviours of our people every day.

Recognition & Reward

We support our people with a range of personal, professional and wellbeing benefits that help them do their best work every day. Employees can access corporate discounts across retail, utilities, travel, health and wellbeing, as well as novated leasing options, flexible workplace policies, 20 weeks of paid parental leave and more.

Applications close 18th of October 2026. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so we encourage you to apply early.

Join us in shaping the future of Australia’s energy network. Apply today and play a key role in supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

Transgrid is committed to health and safety, environmental responsibility, equal employment opportunity, diversity and ethical business practices. All applicants are expected to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to these principles.

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and identities, including women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQ+ people, mature-age candidates and those returning to the workforce after a career break.

If you require adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, we are committed to providing the support you need to participate fully and perform at your best.

Please note that Transgrid operates a direct sourcing model and does not accept agency introductions.
