Our Major Projects Portfolio is driving the transition to cleaner, more reliable energy and we’re creating meaningful career opportunities along the way. Join a team where your expertise is valued, your development is supported, and your contribution genuinely shapes outcomes for communities across NSW.

About the role

Are you an experienced planning professional who thrives on bringing clarity, challenge and insight to complex project environments?

As Major Project PMO (MPMO) Portfolio Planning Manager, you’ll be the planning subject matter expert for Major Projects, leading portfolio planning and independent assurance across the project lifecycle. You’ll provide analysis and insights on schedule performance, critical paths, risk, productivity and delivery confidence, helping project teams and senior leaders identify emerging issues early and make informed decisions.

You’ll also own the Portfolio Master Schedule and play a key role in strengthening planning standards, capability and consistency across Major Projects

What you’ll do

As the Planning SME for all Major Projects, you will

  • Lead planning governance and schedule assurance across Major Projects, driving consistent standards and planning practices.
  • Conduct independent schedule and deep dive analysis, assessing schedule integrity, critical paths, dependencies and delivery risks.
  • Own the Portfolio Master Schedule, providing an integrated view of milestones, interfaces, dependencies and resource requirements.
  • Assess schedule achievability and productivity and performance, identifying constraints, opportunities and priorities for corrective action.
  • Provide portfolio insights and uplift planning capability through reporting, coaching and collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.

What you’ll bring

You’re an experienced planning professional with strong technical judgement and the confidence to challenge, influence and work collaboratively with project teams and senior stakeholders. You can move comfortably between detailed schedule analysis and clear portfolio-level insights. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Extensive experience in planning and scheduling within major capital or infrastructure projects, ideally within energy, electricity transmission or another regulated environment.
  • Strong capability in Primavera P6, Time Chainage
  • Experience managing integrated schedules for portfolio of projects and analysing critical paths, dependencies, and risks
  • Experience in schedule assurance and analytical reviews, including forecast accuracy, delay, productivity, constructability and scenario analysis.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and guide project teams.

Why this role

Make a tangible impact on some of the region’s most significant infrastructure projects, using your expertise to turn complex schedule data into clear, actionable insights that influence senior decision-making and drive successful project outcomes.
