The Senior Planning Engineer will take a leading role in the modelling, analysis, and provision of recommendations for high voltage transmission system developments and the energy system more broadly, to help guide the long-term planning of NSW’s transmission system and major interconnectors and identified Renewable Energy Zones.

- Analyse the implications of future scenarios, policies, or events, such as the unexpected coal closures on the energy system, to ensure we are planning a robust energy system
- Keep abreast of changes in technologies, the National Electricity Market and relevant legislation to assess its impact on operations of the NSW high voltage network and Transgrid’s business
- Review Major Projects Planning processes, policies, and guidelines to achieve improved team performance
- Participate in discussions with stakeholders to build long lasting relationships with industry groups including AEMO and other TNSPs, and exemplify collaborative behaviours to ensure stakeholder requirements are included
