The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
As Senior Asset Analyst you will be accountable for providing data-driven predictive analytics and insights to support sound investment decisions (on both capital and operational) across all asset classes. The role:
- Provides reliable and actionable insights/recommendations on prescribed capital investments to enable Transgrid to optimise the balance of cost, risk and performance on its network assets.
- Leads for the provision of analytics, reporting and insights to business stakeholders to enable understanding of asset programmes
- Leads the development and ensures continuous improvement of existing datasets and algorithms for capital and operating expenditure optimisation.
- Influences the development and application of capital investment governance processes to optimise investment value.
- Develop strategies and procedures relating to investment performance for all assets across the asset lifecycle, including KPI development.
- Assists in the development of approaches to determine effective trade-offs between capex/opex and risk/cost/performance.
You will possess business acumen, insight, and agility to respond to competitive pressures and developments in both market and industry. The position reports to the Asset Works Program Strategy Manager and supports staff in Asset Management.
Skills & Experience
What we expect from you:
- Specialised professional with demonstrated experience in a similar profession role within the electricity, utility or consulting industries
- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Advanced business case, capital investment analysis, and benefits realisation skills, including experience with portfolio optimisation, within an economically regulated infrastructure business
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite of Packages, Particularly Excel, Power Point. Experience in Power BI, particular abilities in query design. Ability to understand and experience in database, object orientated and/or event-driven programming such as SQL and DAX may be an advantage
- Solid communication skills including writing and making presentations to a variety of audiences
- Solid interpersonal skills to liaise with customers, management, and technical staff of other organisations, including demonstrated experience effectively managing internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to work together with a team of technical specialists and professionals
- Knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure and Electricity Networks would be an advantage
