The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to support the growth and shaping of the Compliance function across the enterprise-wide compliance management program in Transgrid. You will possess a sound understanding of regulations and risks relevant to Federal, NSW and Victorian regulated energy businesses and you will play a significant role in identifying emerging issues in a continuously challenging regulatory environment.
In this new role you will help the business manage their compliance environment and lead the coaching and training of business leaders to ensure they are equipped and confident to appropriately control compliance risk in their respective business units.
With your exceptional stakeholder management skills, you will build strong partnerships across the organisation and build credibility quickly with your client groups delivering the best outcomes for the business. You will be adaptable and comfortable working in a changing environment with an ability to be flexible and take on challenges with finesse and ease. Problem solving will be second nature which you will always manage with confidentiality and sensitivity in mind.
As the Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

Educating the business on responsibilities and accountabilities in the compliance management framework

Develop and implement Transgrid's compliance management system through delivering frameworks, policies and procedures and management of documentation

Execute ongoing monitoring of compliance performance, reporting and escalation

Develop and implement compliance training and awareness programs to lift compliance culture

Identify and educate the business on Transgrid's legal and regulatory compliance obligations

Report on compliance internally for Management and Board consumption, including execution of compliance attestations

Working collaboratively in a well-resourced and respected compliance team

Assist the Head of Compliance with Transgrid's response to instances of non-compliance in liaison with appropriate internal and external stakeholders as required
What we expect from you:

Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent relevant experience

Knowledge and understanding of the evaluation and improvement of internal controls and compliance frameworks

Thorough knowledge of the key Commonwealth, NSW, ACT and Victorian legislative requirements relevant to Transgrid's business operations

Experience and proven capacity in leading a compliance program of work for a large corporation or utility

Experience in resource management and business planning

High level negotiating and influencing skills

High level written and verbal communication skills
