The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

In your new role, you will be accountable for delivering accurate and timely group financial reporting and analysis, facilitating effective evaluations of financial performance. Collaborating with Finance Business Partners, Corporate Finance, and Treasury teams, you will contribute to developing financial forecasts for the Business Plan and long-term projections for company valuation. Your responsibilities extend to assisting in the planning and preparation of annual budgets, participating in the monthly forecasting process, and submitting budgets and forecasts for Executive and Board approval.

You will actively support the completion of monthly Management Accounts, conducting reviews and analyses of financial performance. Additionally, you will assess, define, and utilise cost allocation methods, along with approaches to non-costed labour, contributing to monthly reporting and forecasting.

The ideal candidate for this role should hold membership in CPA Australia or a similar organisation and possess experience and a proven capacity in financial analysis and management accounting. Experience in process improvements and a demonstrated ability to self-drive new initiatives will be highly regarded.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Membership of the CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants or similar organisation.
  • Experience and proven capacity in financial analysis and management accounting
  • Achievement in process improvements and ability to self-drive new initiatives
  • Ability to work with a level of ambiguity.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to influence stakeholders.
  • Experience in using finance systems and reporting processes (Oracle EPM, PowerBI are advantageous)
  • Ability to thrive in a small team environment.
  • Customer focus with strong relationship building skills.
  • Understanding of infrastructure assets / capital intensive industry and the regulatory framework surrounding electricity transmission providers (desirable but not a requirement)
