The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and drive the Snowy 2.0 Generation Connection project to success. In this role, you will manage the project management function for Snowy 2.0, working closely with the Senior Project Manager to ensure the project aligns with Transgrid's policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with financial requirements, optimizing resource allocation, and meeting or exceeding service levels and affordability targets.
The role will also support overall project assurance, establish, and provide advice, information and reports on project performance and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You would be working closely with the Construction, Safety, Environment, Project Controls, Lumea, Procurement, Engineering Design and Asset Management teams. Your role will require a high level of collaboration and influence to coordinate the project effectively and promote a culture of high performance in a matrixed organisation.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in engineering or relevant discipline
- Desirable requirements in Project Management qualifications at diploma or advanced diploma or degree level
- High level business and commercial acumen
- Highly collaborative and decisive behaviour style
- High level ability to think outside the box and drive change
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven to work well autonomously
- High standard of communication and report writing skills, personal integrity, and professionalism
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects
- Experience in the design, construction, and management of large, complex infrastructure projects with multiple stakeholders
- Experience in managing large capital High Voltage Substations and/or Transmission Lines projects
- A current Drivers Licence
Desirable
- Experience in contract administration/management and negotiation
- Experience in directing field construction teams
- Experience in negotiating project scope, cost, schedule and risk with customers
