The Opportunity

As a Field Coordinator at Transgrid, you’ll be at the centre of Australia’s electricity transmission operations leading the safe, efficient delivery of work across high-voltage substation sites.

A Day in the Life as a Field Coordinator at Transgrid

  • Lead and supervise the day-to-day execution of substation work programs, including maintenance, upgrades, and emergency repairs. Ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership in the field whilst coaching your team, resolving issues on the spot and ensuring compliance with safety procedures and work quality expectations.
  • Act as the key point of contact for field crews during critical tasks, escalating issues where needed, and ensuring strong communication across field operations and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate field resources; including people, equipment, mobile plant and work closely with planning teams to optimise scheduling, manage priorities, and minimise downtime.
  • Support emergency response activities, including after-hours coordination for incidents involving public safety, outages, or equipment failure.

About You

  • Electrical trade qualifications and extensive substation experience.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills in field environments.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage transmission systems and safety compliance.
  • Proficiency with ERP tools, Excel, and Power BI for reporting.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
