Are you seeking a role where you can play a vital part working with Greater Manchester Highway Authorities, Highways England and other key stakeholders assisting the coordination of major highway schemes, helping to tackle air pollution and enabling people, businesses and goods to get around Greater Manchester more efficiently?
To keep Greater Manchester moving TfGM is delivering Mayoral priorities on an integrated public transport system, so that getting around our city-region is easy, accessible and affordable. TfGM is also responsible for delivering the Bee Network, providing outstanding walking and cycling links in our local neighbourhoods so that active travel is a safe and a favourable choice for short journeys. Greater Manchester’s roads are the life blood of the economy. A well-managed highway network is a vital part of a prosperous and forward-looking region.
This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.
In this role you will work in collaboration with the 10 Greater Manchester Local Highway Authorities and Highways England to deliver interventions to improve and maintain journey time reliability along the key transport corridors through a systematic and forensic examination of key corridors to understand and identify issues and problems that lead to congestion and delays on routes.
You will have knowledge and understanding of highway network management including, traffic management techniques, procedures and funding sources. Working knowledge of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and the Highways Act 1980 is essential.
You will have experience of producing effective business cases and presentations for a range of political, professional and lay person audiences and delivering these within demanding timescales. You will also be able to work collaboratively to achieve business objectives and demonstrating negotiating and persuading skills with a variety of stakeholders, especially in a highly complex political environment, in the pursuit of positive outcomes is a requirement of the role. You will also have experience of dealing with projects/programmes that impact on the general public and other multiple stakeholders in the pursuit of positive outcomes.

The salary range for this role is £41,670 - £46,901. Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.
