The Partners and Strategic Operations team is a central function within Transurban focused on continuing to grow relationships with our joint venture partners and working with markets across our business to drive excellence in our operations and asset management.
Reporting to the General Manager, Partners and Strategic Operations, the Head of Asset Management Systems & Governance will work alongside a newly structured management team to lead, develop and implement best practice across Transurban's enterprise asset management and operations systems, strategies and processes to ensure we operate safely and efficiently.
The incumbent will join the business at a crucial time for the delivery of Transurban's strategic asset management and operations framework (SAMOF). You'll have the chance to put your stamp on a newly formed team to build capacity and embed systems and processes for the enterprise.
The impact you'll have
- You'll be accountable for maintaining and developing the Transurban strategic asset management and operations framework, working closely with the Head of Asset Management for each market to ensure group-wide alignment for key strategies and processes.
- You'll be responsible for key project management initiatives, facilitating the development of artefacts and business cases across markets to uplift and continuously improve Transurban's asset management and operational practices and processes.
- You'll be a custodian for Transurban's asset management information systems and be accountable for their upkeep and maintenance, ensuring they are fit for purpose and aligned to business needs across Transurban's markets and assets, including the ownership of the roadmap for the organisation.
- You'll have the opportunity to use Transurban's systems, strategies and processes to gather and share insights and be a champion for continuous improvement activities, driving best practice.
- You'll be an integral part of the PSO leadership team, mentoring and coaching all members of the Asset Management Systems and Governance team, to foster a high-performance culture.
- You'll clearly demonstrate Transurban's values, treating others with dignity and respect, seeking the contribution of others, while holding yourself to the utmost account.

- You'll have significant asset management, maintenance delivery and management experience in complex operational and/or delivery environment.
- You'll have a strategic mindset and have an understanding of identifying prospects, the procurement of assets and how assets develop overtime.
- You'll have relevant bachelor and/or masters qualifications in engineering and management.
- You'll have experience using asset management software (e.g. Maximo) to drive insight and improved practices in maintenance and operations.
- You'll have experience within program governance/risk mitigation and draw on outstanding stakeholder engagement skills.
- You'll have strong commercial acumen, having worked within a capital-intensive industry/infrastructure across either asset management or technical engineering consulting.
- You'll have a proven track record of establishing and leading high performing teams to support continuous process improvements.
