The Roles
Transurban is seeking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel and Corporate Counsel to join the high performing legal team which is expanding to deepen the team's expertise in areas that support the businesses growth objectives. Working with a dynamic and talented team and reporting to the Head of Legal - Delivery & Disputes, you will work closely with the executive stakeholders and partner with the business as a key legal and strategic advisor.
You will provide incisive, practical legal advice on contract administration and best practice for major projects, key commercial frameworks and proposals, claims and disputes management and resolution and regulatory matters.
The roles can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

The talents you'll bring:
You will have 3+ years post qualification experience (Corporate Counsel) or 7+ years post qualification experience (Senior Legal Counsel) with a top tier law firm or relevant experience within the corporate sector in the area of dispute mitigation and resolution. Experience in the management of construction and infrastructure claims and disputes is desirable but not essential.
You will have a law degree and qualification as a lawyer in Australia or comparable jurisdiction.
You'll have a deep understanding of dispute resolution processes across varied forums and a proven ability to understand and interpret legislation and contractual requirements in a manner that provides useful information for the business to use in risk analysis, option assessment and decision making.
You'll have highly developed verbal and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to successfully engage, negotiate and deal tactfully and effectively with people in challenging circumstances. A team player - you'll actively contribute and work well in a close-knit environment
