Working at Transurban is different; it's a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day. We create city-sized solutions-building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads-to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.

About the role
We're seeking an Asset System Engineer to put their skills as both an Engineer and asset management system specialist to use across the WestConnex network, changing the way we travel in Sydney.

The role will largely involve managing and maintaining the Asset Management System - Maximo (AMS) as well as performing analysis and quality control of maintenance contractor activities in Maximo, while engaging and managing specialist consultants and contractors, seeking to establish condition-based maintenance models and practices to enhance Transurban's management of its assets.

As our Asset System Engineer, you'll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It's meaningful, challenging and exciting work.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • You'll oversee the contractor's use of the Asset Management System (Maximo) and work with them to update and improve functionality of the system.
  • You'll provide advice and monitor the latest trends in asset maintenance management practices and asset lifecycle techniques.
  • You'll help define maintenance standards and technical requirements for our assets.
  • You'll assist with the overall management and inspection of road assets.
  • You'll use your skills as an expert user of Maximo to advise on its correct use.
  • You'll utilise your engineering background to liaise with and oversee contractors and their delivery.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

  • 5+ years' experience as a solutions-driven maintenance professional with Asset Management Systems experience mandatory, ideally using 'Maximo', although experience with similar systems is also advantageous.
  • Experience in planning and scheduling maintenance or construction works.
  • Practical experience with infrastructure and facilities asset management.
  • Experience in development projects, especially brownfield construction work where assets must remain operational.
  • Strong contract management and negotiation experience together with the ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with Audit and Internal Inspection of contractors is desirable.
  • A tertiary degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) is desirable.

If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.

With a career at Transurban, you'll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year.
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well.
  • Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests.
  • Health and wellbeing support-access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more.
  • Share offers and insurance benefits.
  • Social activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer days.

We offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.
