About the role
As the Project Manager you will be responsible for the overall coordination and leadership of the Tallawarra Power Station Switchyard Extension in Wollongong, NSW. This project forms part of the broader contract with Snowy Hydro Limited to construct a 660MW power generation plant at the Hunter Power Project.
In this key role you will manage the full project lifecycle using best-practice methodology. Key responsibilities of this role include\:
- Leading from the front and instilling clear lines of communication in the team
- Working with the client to find solutions to challenges and executing the project in a safe, cost-effective manner
- Building and leading a high-performance safety culture which sustains safe work delivery
- Achieving customer and stakeholder satisfaction with UGL performance
- Leading the project team to deliver the project accurately and efficiently according to schedule, budget, scope and margin
- Compiling and coordinating the development of the project management plans
- Foster a culture of inclusion, responsiveness, honesty and accountability
About you
This role will suit a commercially astute leader with a primary focus on safety who has extensive experience with the delivery of substations and power stations. Further skills, experience and qualifications that will see you succeed include\:
- Experience in project cost estimations
- Ability to create and interpret budgets, financial statements and variance reports
- Ability to build a strong team and invest in their growth
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiating and diplomacy skills, and
- Highly effective written and oral communication skills
- Formal project management accreditation equivalent to the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), PMBOK, PMP or equivalent
