We require the immediate start of a Senior Operations Manager – WA to join our team at Perth, Western Australia.
This role is responsible for the sourcing, securing and successful delivery of identified opportunities and drive the performance and growth of the Communications Technology Systems, Rail and Power business for Western Australia. As the leader of the WA business, strong interpersonal skill and leadership will be required to enable the growth of the team. The multi sector business unit covers a significantly diverse array of clients with large pipeline opportunities.
This role develop a strong presence in WA for all aspects of the business, including\:
- Representing UGL’s best interests in the West
- Primary interface with the customer on behalf of UGL and the CIMIC Group
- Lead the functions and managers consistently actively creating environments for individuals, teams and functions to succeed
- Lead the UGL interactions with any Joint Venture partners and the clients
- Pipeline and opportunity governance across the project lifecycle
- Provide support and governance on the projects with a focus on innovative and effective solutions
- Responsible for the budget of the Line of Business, Projects and the appropriate allocation of resources across the projects to maximise delivery and return on forecast margin
- Work with the P&C and HSSE leads to ensure effective people leadership and development processes are in place and that a safe working environment is established from the commencement of this project.
- Lead risk and opportunity assessment and management activities to evaluate all operational, technical commercial, financial, legislative and resource risk associated with the delivery of the project.
- Provide ongoing development and mentoring for the LoB and contribute to the approach and outcomes adopted across UGL to develop strong leaders
The successful candidate will require\:
- Bachelor’s degree in project management or engineering
- Significant Rail and/or Technology experience and exposure to multidisciplinary functions
- Strong network and client relationships in the Rail, Power and Communications industry
- Demonstrable experience of commercial, contractual, financial and legal issues in the rail/signalling environment
- Work winning, tendering and bid management knowledge and understanding.
- High degree of initiative, interpersonal skills – Be a visible leader engaging in open dialogue leading a mentoring and coaching culture
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Proficient skills in computers\: MS Word, Excel, email.
- Experienced gained in the rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment.
