About the role
UGLs Manufacturing & Maintenance business are seeking an Electrical Fleet Engineer to join the team at our Spotswood Locomotive maintenance facility in Victoria on a permanent full time basis. UGL is open to applicants nationally and willing to offer relocation assistance for any suitable candidate willing to relocate to Melbourne.
Reporting to the Site Manager, the role of Fleet Engineer will be responsible for the Pacific National EMD fleet reliability performance covering all systems including electrical and mechanical components. The role will also assist in any additional projects on other fleets as required.
The role will also be responsible for;
- Achieving KPI targets and objectives for locomotive reliability and availability
- Reviewing data and completing trend analysis to determine areas to focus on to deliver the best performance within the contractual and budget parameters
- Developing business cases for larger capital improvements within the fleet
- Regular and ad-hoc reporting on all component, system and complete Locomotive reliability performance.
- Preparing, presenting and reporting technical work to peers, seniors, external suppliers and customers
About you
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in Electrical or Mechatronics engineering (or equivalent industry experience in the absence of a degree);
- 3 years post graduate heavy industry experience – ideally in Rail other heavy industry
- Positive and flexible attitude to get the job done with a problem-solving mindset
- Practical knowledge of Reliability theory and modelling processes
- Outstanding Safety Awareness gained in a safety critical operational environment
- Robust knowledge and experience of engineering standards and regulations
- Ability to work effectively with technology to achieve creative solutions
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
