This is a fast‑paced, high‑volume role for an experienced Instructional Designer who can move quickly from concept to delivery, confidently engage stakeholders, and turn complex capability needs into practical learning solutions.

You’ll work at the centre of a busy Learning & Development team, partnering closely with subject matter experts and branch leaders to scope, design and deliver learning that supports operational, safety, technical and professional capability.

About the role
As an Instructional Designer in our Learning & Development team, you will manage multiple learning projects at once - from initial consultation through to build, launch and evaluation. You’ll need to be comfortable driving conversations, challenging assumptions, and keeping work moving in an environment where priorities can shift.

This role suits someone who enjoys momentum, is organised under pressure, and can build trust quickly with leaders and SMEs to get projects off the ground and delivered well.

This role can be based out of Maroochydore or Mango Hill.

What you’ll do
  • Proactively engaging leaders and subject matter experts to scope learning needs and agree on fit‑for‑purpose solutions
  • Designing and developing engaging digital and blended learning using contemporary instructional design approaches
  • Managing learning projects end‑to‑end, including timelines, deliverables and stakeholder expectations
  • Producing high‑quality learning assets using tools such as Articulate 360 and the Adobe Suite
  • Managing and improving learning content within Unitywater’s LMS
  • Using data and learner feedback to evaluate impact and continuously improve learning solutions
  • Coordinating vendors, resources and budgets to deliver scalable learning at pace
What we’re looking for
You’re an experienced instructional designer who can operate independently in a busy environment and knows how to get things done through strong relationships.

To be successful, you will bring:
  • Proven experience designing and delivering digital learning in a complex organisation
  • Strong instructional design capability with a practical, learner‑focused mindset
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities
  • Confidence engaging, influencing and consulting with SMEs and operational leaders
  • Solid understanding of adult learning principles and applied learning strategies
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems and learning analytics
  • Clear communication, strong judgement, and the ability to move work forward without hand‑holding
It’s a bonus if you have:
  • Experience in water, utilities, construction or highly regulated environments
  • Exposure to technical, safety or compliance‑based learning
  • A continuous improvement mindset and appetite to test smarter ways of working
