About the role:
We are currently recruiting Water Industry Workers (WIW) to join the Unitywater team in Sunshine Coast region. This hands-on role is perfect if you enjoy working outdoors and want to contribute to essential community services.

As a WIW, you will be responsible for maintaining Unitywater’s water and sewerage network through a mix of planned and reactive civil maintenance, as well as minor replacements, renewals, and extension works. You will help ensure the reliable delivery of safe, high-quality water and sewerage services to the community.

Working under supervision, you will operate tools, vehicles, and equipment safely and efficiently, while learning on the job and progressing through structured training. You will also use mobile field technology to record your work and support a culture focused on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity to begin a meaningful career in the water industry, with ongoing training and development, including completing a Certificate II in Water Operations within your first 12 months.

About you:
Our One Unitywater behaviours - Create the Future, Care Together, and Own It – define how we work together at Unitywater. To contribute to this, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
  • Eager to learn – ready to complete a Certificate II in Water Operations (and work toward Certificate III).
  • Reliable and safety-conscious – you understand the importance of following procedures and maintaining safe work practices.
  • Hands-on and practical – confident using tools, plant, and machinery (or willing to learn).
  • Digitally capable – comfortable using mobile devices and basic software to complete tasks and record work.
  • A team player – able to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
  • Accountable and responsible – able to follow instructions, work with minimal supervision, and take pride in your work.
  • Customer-focused – you represent Unitywater with professionalism and care when interacting with customers.
  • Adaptable and ready to grow – open to feedback, continuous improvement, and development opportunities.
You will also either hold or be willing to obtain the following:
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • C Class or MR Driver’s Licence.
  • Mandatory compliance and licensing requirements as outlined by Unitywater.
Working at Unitywater:
  • Flexibility: We value flexibility and support work-life balance with hybrid and flexible working, purchased annual leave and access to floating public holidays.
  • Wellbeing: We offer several initiatives to support your wellbeing, such as discounted private health insurance, salary packaging, employee assistance program, and access to retailer discounts and benefits.
  • Learning and Development: We offer a range of opportunities to feed your curiosity such as: Walk on Country experience, study assistance, access to a dedicated learning program and professional memberships.
Diversity: We celebrate, value and include people of all backgrounds, gender and expressions, sexualities, cultures, bodies and abilities. We invite you to join our dedicated employee networks focused on First Nations Reconciliation, LGBTQIA+, CALD, Gender, Life Stage, Disability and Accessibility.

About us:

We operate on Kabi Kabi, Jinibara and Turrbal Country, proudly providing safe and reliable water to customers in Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa. We think a pretty good job starts here.
