About the role:

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will develop your skills and knowledge across Electrical Fitting, Mechanical and Instrumentation through a combination of formal training and practical, hands-on experience.

Based at our Southern Service Centre, Morayfield Depot, you will work across the Moreton Bay Region, supporting the maintenance and operation of critical water and wastewater infrastructure. Working alongside experienced tradespeople and leaders, you will gain valuable on-the-job experience while building the skills required to successfully complete your apprenticeship.

This is a 4 year apprenticeship to start as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with maintenance and minor corrective works on plant, equipment and infrastructure.
  • Supporting testing, inspections and fault-finding to ensure equipment is safe and operating effectively.
  • Accurately completing timesheets, work history reports and maintenance records.
  • Following workplace health and safety requirements and contributing to a strong safety culture.
  • Working collaboratively with experienced tradespeople and team members across the Moreton Bay Region.
  • Participating in formal training, on-the-job learning and development activities to successfully complete your apprenticeship.
About you:

Must have:
  • Strong interest in electrical and instrumentation trades.
  • Completion of, or progress towards, Year 12 with strong Maths and Science results.
  • Strong computer skills and an eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • A commitment to undertaking and completing formal apprenticeship training.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence and ability to pass a full colour vision test.
Nice to have:
  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous exposure to technical, trade or engineering-related studies.
