About the role:
Based at our Southern Service Centre in Morayfield, the Area Manager South Field Services is responsible for leading the planned and reactive civil maintenance works across the Southern region. Working closely with the support and guidance from the Manager Field Services and Support, you will become an influential mentor to the Field Services crew focusing on the teams’ development. You will ensure a safe capable and engaged workforce, fostering a ‘zero harm’ safety culture. Applying your commercial acumen, you will identify and execute opportunities to improve budget performance focusing on efficiency. And, putting to use your technical expertise, you will coach team members to navigate through effective operational outcomes.
About you:
To contribute to Unitywater’s values of Reliability, Safety, Honesty & Integrity, Efficiency, One Team, Innovation, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
- Relevant practical operational experience coupled with a Degree in civil engineering or a management discipline.
- Thorough understanding of water industry workplace health and safety compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience in leading and managing an operations and maintenance workforce or similar field-based workforce.
- Proven ability to effectively oversee and influence a field-based workforce to optimise safety and maximise productivity.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen with budgets in excess of $5 million.
- Demonstrable experience in managing emergency response situations.
- Ability to effectively present complex information clearly in written or oral form.
- Ability to build long term relationships with executives, stakeholders, peers and subordinates.
- An in-depth understanding of water supply, sewerage and recycled water operation and maintenance activities.
- C Class Driver License.
