About the role: Our Development Services Section plays a critical role at Unitywater in providing a streamlined development applications and management process whilst developing income generating opportunities for Unitywater and focusing on continuously improving the process. Below are the positions available and requirements:
Development Inspectors: As a Development Inspector, you will manage the asset handover process through audit inspection and acceptance of water supply and sewerage infrastructure. You will also conduct regular onsite audit inspections of Development Services approved water supply and sewerage construction works for compliance. Additionally, you will provide technical advice regarding water and sewerage subdivision / development standards; building over or adjacent to Unitywater’s water supply and sewerage infrastructure and ensuring compliance with all legislation and approvals.
To be a high performer in these positions, you will have the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and engineering plans and specifications. Relevant industry qualifications such as Associate Diploma, Degree or similar civil construction qualification is also required.
Development Officer The Development Officer will evaluate development related connection applications against technical and service standards, to ensure we are providing our customers with efficient water supply and sewerage services. You will also provide technical advice and guidance in an approvals function for water and sewerage connection to development.
To be successful in this position, you will have a knowledge of or the ability to gain knowledge of the Sustainable Planning Act and Integrated Development Assessment System, South East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail Restructuring) Act, the Environmental Protection Act and related Regulations, South-East Queensland Design and Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards related to water supply and sewerage infrastructure. Additionally, relevant industry qualifications such as a Degree, Bachelor or Diploma in Civil Engineering of similar is required.
