About the role:
Make a real impact by improving customer experiences, especially for those facing vulnerability. In this role, you’ll provide expert guidance on domestic and family violence policies, deliver exceptional customer service, and drive initiatives that ensure fair access to essential services.
You will also support the Credit and Collections Manager in effectively managing customer accounts and ensuring payment arrangements are handled appropriately. This includes reviewing customer accounts daily, making informed decisions under pressure, and maintaining the smooth flow of the debt portfolio.
Collaborating with business stakeholders, you'll lead awareness and training efforts to foster accountability and inclusivity. A key part of your role will be reviewing customer data and behaviours, identifying patterns, and providing solutions that benefit both the customer and the organisation.
As part of our Revenue Assurance Team, you'll also play a pivotal role in enhancing efficiency and strengthening Unitywater’s revenue and credit collections capabilities.
About the team:
You will be working within a key area of the business in the Revenue Assurance Team. This branch manages the end-to-end meter-to-cash process, which encompasses water meter reading, billing, payments, debt collection, maintaining customer account records and more.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of credit control procedures in the utilities sector and/or similar industry
- Knowledge of the water utilities sector and relevant regulations
- Background in credit and/or legal processes
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced team environments
- Professional and empathetic customer service approach
- Ability to handle difficult conversations with vulnerable customers both in person and other communication channels
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other MS tools
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong time management and planning capabilities
- Resilient and adaptable in challenging situations
- Ability to put people at ease and show care
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Strong negotiation skills
- Understanding of hardship support and referral pathways for customers
