We are a water utility serving one of the fastest growing regions in the country.
We think a pretty good job starts here.
About the role:
Help shape the future of essential water and wastewater services by ensuring new infrastructure is delivered safely, smoothly and seamlessly into operation. As our Operational Readiness Lead, you’ll play a vital role in connecting project delivery with operational success—making sure every new asset is ready, understood and set up to support our customers and communities.
In this key role, you’ll translate Unitywater’s operational readiness requirements into practical frameworks, processes and tools for our Integrated Delivery Teams (IDTs). What you’ll do
- Lead the development and delivery of operational readiness frameworks, tools and processes for capital projects.
- Collaborate with planning, delivery, commissioning and operations teams to identify requirements early and guide projects through key readiness milestones.
- Oversee the smooth and accurate completion, acceptance and handover of new or upgraded assets into operation.
- Coordinate training, simulations and readiness exercises to build capability and confidence in frontline teams.
- Support commissioning, asset registration and capitalisation processes to ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
- Drive continuous improvement in handover, completion and operational readiness practices across the program.
What you’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in project completions, operational readiness or asset handover within water, wastewater or complex utilities.
- Strong understanding of asset registration, capitalisation, commissioning and operational handover processes.
- Project Management qualification or relevant experience within large or complex project environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience supporting training, change and transition activities for operational workforces.
- A proactive, improvement-focused mindset.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, operations management, systems, or equivalent experience.
