About the role:
We’re looking for an engaged and technically strong Principal Project Manager to lead and support the delivery of key infrastructure projects, including solar switchboards, SCADA & RTU programs, in various STP’s across our region.
In this role, you’ll bring your project management expertise, technical knowledge, and leadership skills to guide complex projects through the full lifecycle — from setup and approvals through to commissioning, handover, and the on-maintenance period. You’ll also play a pivotal role in mentoring and supporting project teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and in line with Unitywater’s strategic ambition.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to act as a primary liaison between Partner Representatives and internal teams.
- Coordinate access to shared services and facilitate smooth project integration into Unitywater systems and processes.
- Provide technical, asset, and compliance guidance to project teams throughout the lifecycle.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and Partners to plan commissioning, reliability activities, procurement strategies, and smooth asset handover.
- Support governance, assurance, reporting, and effective record-keeping.
- Contribute to monthly reporting, highlighting progress, risks, and potential obstacles.
Our One Unitywater behaviours - Create the Future, Care Together, and Own It – define how we work together at Unitywater. To contribute to this, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
- Significant experience delivering infrastructure projects within the water sector or a similar industry, preferably in a client-side or integration role within a collaborative working environment.
- Hold an electrical degree, trade qualification, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience with Solar, SCADA & RTU programs and associated infrastructure.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary teams, effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to negotiate and influence positive outcomes.
- Brings a solutions-focused approach and strong decision-making skills.
- Is confident mentoring and supporting other project managers and team members.
- Current C-Class Driver’s Licence.
