We are seeking an experienced and commercially mindedSenior Tax Advisorto join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with strategic business partnering. You will play a key role in providing tax advice, ensuring compliance obligations are met, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and supporting business growth through informed tax planning.
About the Role
As a Senior Tax Advisor, you will:
- Provide expert advice on corporate tax, indirect tax, FBT, GST, and other tax matters.
- Manage tax compliance obligations, including preparation and review of tax returns, tax effect accounting, and regulatory reporting.
- Monitor and interpret legislative changes and assess their impact on the business.
- Partner with finance, legal, payroll, and operational teams to provide practical tax solutions.
- Support audits, reviews, and engagements with external advisors and tax authorities.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, restructures, and other strategic projects from a tax perspective.
- Prepare technical tax papers, position papers, and management reports.
- Mentor and support junior finance and tax professionals.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CA, CPA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Significant experience in corporate tax, either within a large organisation, professional services firm, or both.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Experience providing strategic and practical tax advice to stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to non-technical audiences.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in a large, complex corporate environment.
- Exposure to international tax, transfer pricing, or tax governance frameworks.
- Experience supporting major business transformation or commercial projects.
