About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Joint Logistics Unit (JLU) Manager, responsible for supporting the multiple sites in South East QLD, within Ventia’s Defence Maintenance & Support Services (DMSS) Contract.
Ventia is the ADF’s industry partner for the repair and maintenance of Army material including artillery, small arms, instrument repair, night vision equipment and all armoured vehicles and variants. We currently delivery approximately 900,000 maintenance hours annually and operate a 24/7 nationwide vehicle and equipment recovery service.
Responsibilities
The Joint Logistics Unit (JLU) Manager will work closely with the client and Ventia’s site supervisors to understand the business, and collaboratively achieve targets. This role is also responsible for:
- Safety leadership
- Managing performance and delivery of maintenance services, ensuring minimisation of unproductive time (man hours and vehicle / plant usage)
- Ensuring KPI’s and Contractual obligations are met
- Driving consistency and quality
- Reporting
- Extensive stakeholder engagement
- Assisting sector leads with personnel management and retention
Experiences & Qualifications
- Experience in a Defence environment would be an advantage, but not essential
- Significant experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated management of teams and ability to drive performance and improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of Safety
- Valid driver’s licence
- Must be an Australian citizen, to be eligible to hold a Defence Clearance
