About the role:

Reporting to the General Manager of Procurement the Procurement Sector Manager is responsible for the delivery of end-to-end Sector Procurement strategies including assisting with winning work, driving value for money outcomes and post contract vendor management with critical vendors.

You will support key sector stakeholders to identify and support their business strategy and goals through the delivery of commercially astute, sustainable and value adding procurement activities.

This position can be located at our North Sydney or Melbourne office however we are flexible on location so options to base out of other key offices will be considered for the right applicant.

What you’ll be doing:

• Drive value from the company's expenditure through collaborative working with stakeholders and using fact-based decision making.
• Develop and maintain sound understanding of supplier economic and supply market options and opportunities.
• Develop effective relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to facilitate delivery of Strategic Procurement and Sector objectives.
• Provide forward looking procurement and commercial insights to sector stakeholders.
• Provide procurement support and oversight to pre contract (winning work) activities such as market intel, vendor engagement pricing and capability requirements.
• Negotiate capture and report on the delivery of sector initiative and benefits.
• Ensure effective compliance with all processes, procedures and governance frameworks.

About you:

• Relevant Commerce, Business qualifications or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 year’s experience working in a central Strategic Procurement department.
• Deep knowledge of Category Management, Contract Management and SRM.
• Well developed subcontractor management exposure.
• Exceptional commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Strong negotiation ability with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Administratively self-sufficient, including experience in using SAP and Ariba.
• Advanced experience with Excel essential.
