Ventia provide incident management and road maintenance for the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing. The Toowoomba Second Range Crossing is the one of the largest road infrastructure projects in Queensland’s history. It connects the Warrego Highway at Helidon Spa in the east to the Gore Highway at Athol in the west via Charlton.
About the Role
Working a 4 day on, 4 day off roster (alternating day and night shift – 12 hour shift), the role of Tollroad Control Centre Operator is accountable for managing Toowoomba Second Range Crossing safe and efficient flow of traffic on a continuous 24/7 basis. The role is responsible for achieving the required operation contractual standards in relation to incident management, lane availability and system availability.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing safe and effective incident management services across the network with rapid detection and effective response
- Provide motorists with safe lane availability
- Support, review and implement traffic management
- Participate in emergency management exercises
- Assist with work permits, asset management system works and subcontractor management processes
- Some reporting
This is a full time, permanent role, based at our Cranley office in Toowoomba, with flexibility to work from home once established in the role.
About You
This role would suit someone from a traffic management or emergency response background. You will be able to respond calmly in a rapid response environment, with consideration to time pressures.
Additionally, your will have:
- Excellent attention to detail
- High level oral and written presentation skills
- Ability to recommend, implement and maintain best proactive operational standards in areas such as operations and customer management.
- Ability to time manage, set priorities and work to strict deadlines
