Our client, Anglo American are a leading global mining company with a portfolio of world-class coal mining operations and undeveloped resources. Anglo American produces and exports the highest quality hard coking coal around the world to be used for steel production for critical building and infrastructure. Ventia provide Hard and Soft FM services including village maintenance and accommodation to a number of Anglo American sites across the Bowen Basin.

Ventia are currently seeking an Assistant Village Manager to join the leadership team at our Anglo Village Operation Site in Moura. FIFO is on offer to the right candidate. About the Role

This critical role will be responsible for providing strong leadership direction as well as providing operational support to all of the Village Service Delivery teams. FIFO / DIDO or local position dependent on location.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the development and implementation of key village service strategies and action plans that continue to promote and improve operational excellence
  • Employee rostering ensuring service requirements are achieved and operational mining planned variances are accommodated for (e.g. shutdowns, long wall moves etc)
  • Advise and provide leadership and technical support to contract Supervisors and Managers on all matters relating to village operations and people management
  • Ensure timely development, delivery and alignment to key end to end management programs, including but not limited to: Food Safety Program, Allergen Classification / Notification, Food Procurement Strategy and Risk Management; H&S updates and continual improvement programs as they are introduced
  • Auditing, analysing, and reporting village operational performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies
  • Liaise with senior Ventia and Anglo-American leadership on operational matters where required
  • Conduct and support Health and Safety investigations and determining root causes through Ventia Safety and Health data base Vensafe
  • Drive a culture of delivering above and beyond customer and client expectations


About You

  • Strong leadership/management capability, including ability to manage teams and develop them technically and behaviorally in alignment with company culture and values
  • Experience in Hotel/Motel/Resort management or hospitality is highly adventageous
  • Ability to manage budgets and forecasts
  • Strong safety and health focus
  • Strong and experienced stakeholder engagement
