The Role
Ventia are currently recruiting for a Qualified Lifeguard Team Leader to manage and oversee the Lifeguard Team at the RAAF Base Edinburgh. You will ensure the pool remains open 15 hours a day, 7 days a week and be able to always provide a vigilant and proactive lifeguard service to all pool users. This role is a permanent, fulltime position 38hrs/per week, working rostered hours, anywhere between 6:00am – 9:00pm from Monday - Sunday (7days).
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to;
- Ensure all pool users adhere to site-specific orders and instructions.
- Supervise pool users, ensuring they move safely about the pool area and adopt safe water entry practices.
- Complete general pool management and administration associated with water quality and other legislative requirements.
- Ensure pool surface, sub surface and surrounds are clean.
- Ensuring pool rescue equipment is in appropriate condition for use.
- Take and manage bookings as required.
- Develop and publish staffing rosters in line with contract requirements and manage staff timesheets including labour hire.
Position Requirements:
- State recognised qualification as a Lifeguard.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Administer oxygen in an emergency situation qualification.
- Requalify in all lifeguard specific competencies as per state legislation.
- Hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Rescue and Resuscitation qualifications (often known as depth test) to at least the deepest part of the pool at their facility (valid for 12 months).
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance.
As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
