Our client, Anglo American are a leading global mining company with a portfolio of world-class coal mining operations and undeveloped resources. Anglo American produces and exports the highest quality hard coking coal around the world to be used for steel production for critical building and infrastructure. Ventia provide Hard and Soft FM services including village maintenance and accommodation to a number of Anglo American sites across the Bowen Basin.

Ventia are currently seeking a Chef in Moranbah to support the Head Chef and Sous Chefs with daily operations and food service, including routine meals and service. The Chef will work across a 14/7 day DIDO roster.

About the role

  • Ensure efficient food preparation and delivery of meal services from production facilities
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers and barbeques
  • Support and participate in the implementation and management of the Food Safety Program
  • Clean, sanitise and maintain cooking utensils, equipment and food preparation areas
  • Participate in regular stock take an inventory control activities
  • Check, record and sign off on all shift cleaning schedules, and documentation relating to incoming goods, food holding units and temperature probes

What we’re looking for

  • Australian recognised Commercial Cookery qualification
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in large commercial kitchens
  • Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation and statutory obligations
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of customer service
  • HACCP Level 2 certification (plus)
  • Fully Vaccinated against Covid-19 by 1st March 2022 (Vaccination Certificate or Proof of Valid Medical Exemption will be required)
