The Role
The Early and Late Firefighters are responsible for the operational requirements of the applicable fire station under the direction of the Regional Manager, Station Officer or Leading Fire-fighter. This is a permanent position based out of Oakey QLD. Early week is 7am to 2pm (Monday to Friday) and late week is 2pm to 11.30pm (Monday to Thursday)

Responsibilities

• Perform the role and duties of a Fire-fighter as directed by the Station Officer and Leading fire-fighter.

• Follow all safe work method statements in the delivery of operational outputs for the Fire and Rescue Service.

• Respond to incidents and emergencies in accordance with contractually required timeframes.

• Monitor radio communications as required.

• Obtain and document any emergency information requested by the Incident Controller during emergency situations.

• Undertake any administrative duties associated with the delivery of the Fire and Rescue Service in accordance with requirements and second tasking.

• Participate in training and development activities in accordance with current competency and qualification requirements of the role.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

• Hold the relevant Public Safety (Fire Sector) competencies

• A proven track record for performance and professionalism for multi-tasking.

• A strong focus on team orientation.

• Will be required to work shift work.

• May be required to back-fill other fire stations within the state or around the country.

• Must hold a current and valid driver’s licence.

• Must be an Australian Citizen able to maintain a defence security clearance.
