About the Contract

Ventia provide operational and maintenance services to Millmerran Power Station, which generates 870MW of electricity to over 1 million homes.

The Role

Is Preventative Maintenance your thing? Millmerran is one of the most efficient Coal fired power produces in Australia, feeding 11,000 tonnes of coal a day. Ventia are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to conduct the mechanical maintenance and replacements on the power station to ensure continuous operation of the site. This is a full-time opportunity with a flexible working roster of 4 days on, 3 days off.

Main responsibilities will include, but not limited:

• Online and offline maintenance inspections and testing on plant equipment
  

• Follow maintenance procedures and highlight where revisions to procedures are required
  

• Carry out minor plant isolation and operation
  

• Preventative maintenance inspections and troubleshooting on plant equipment
  

• Replacement and/or repairs of existing plant equipment on site.
  

• Utilise the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to create, manage, complete, and enter history against work orders.

Please note, this role is based on site at the Millmerran Power Station. Due to fatigue management reasons, we require the successful candidate to reside within a 1-hour drive of Millmerran, or be willing to relocate (at your own expense).

Required Qualifications & Skills:

To be considered for this role, you will require:

• Certificate 3 in Mechanical Fitting or Equivalent
  

• Demonstrated industry experience – 2+ Years
  

• White Card
  

• Australian Drivers Licence
  

• Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance background (Desirable)
  

• Previous experience in Coal and Ash handling or similar environment (highly desirable)
  

• High focus on safety and an exceptional safety record in the industry
